This is a story about a loving couple. loving because they have braved through some really difficult times together and also because they seldom quarrelled.
Let's call them Ms A and Mr B.
The story dates back to Christmas a year ago.
A and B were holidaying overseas when a misunderstanding arised.
At the stroke of midnight, B secretly called his friend Ms C to wish her Merry Christmas.
"Calling a friend to send wishes is normal.." one might say.
But why did B had to hide it from A and delete her number from his hp? Not only so, B gave C a x'mas present and a series of instructions as to when she should open the present etc. That was when A started to feel that things were not right.
"That's a gesture of platonic friendship mah! Haiya... you worry too much lah.. ." another person might exclaim.
Alright. Blame it on A's sensitivity. Sensitive because she treasured the relationship. Sensitive becaused A loved B. Well, when A trashed things out with B, B reassured her that there was nothing going on between him and C. B even laughed at A for being oversensitive.
Things were back to normal and C's name was seldom mentioned.
Alright.. fast forward x months later.
It's nearing exams and both A and B are busy preparing for their exams. A has many projects to complete and also prefers to study in the room while B has got exams in a few weeks time, hence spending most of his time in the library or the study area. Both do not study together.
A trusts that B has been mugging for exams dilligently with his bunch of guy friends in the library. Turns out that that might not have been the case.
While B was sleeping one day, A chanced upon some messages in his phone.
"Don't you know that peeping into someone else's phone is very impolite? Don't you trust him?" a voice was ringing in A's mind. However, her sixth sense told her she simply had to look at it. She had already noticed that B was sending messages and addressing them as "Ah ger... " a few days back when they were out together. (fyi B never calls A "Ah ger", so she was positive that the msg for was not intended for her)
and so she did. She checked his hp.
One message read: (sentences have been edited for grammar spelling and tenses)
B: you want to study in the library?
C: too far leh.. tom i got 830 class.. at the study area den i ok*"
B: ... (mean: not sure what his reply was )
Another message read:
B: ....
C: ...
B: ...
C: you want to study in my room? my roommate's not around.
B:...
OMG!!!
an invitation extended to B from C to study in HER room as her room mate was not in!!! How would you feel if you were A reading through it?
God knows whether B went in the end. But it surely made A very very upset when she saw it.
Still, she remained indifferent and acted as if nothing had happened. A and B went home *happily* and B dismissed A's "wierd behaviour" as being tired.
When A reached home, she consulted her best friend D.
D's advice was to talk to B nicely to find out what went wrong exactly. However, A did not want B to feel that she did not trust him.
Still confused, A accidentally blurted her the incident to her mother during lunch.
Mum also felt that A needed to find out things from B. esp the studying in the room thing. Mum was also quick to label as C as "being cheap" if she harboured other intentions besides studying. She should have jolly well knew that B's girlfriend did not like her one bit.
As if things weren't bad enought, A's mum asked her another question suddenly, sparking off another round of uncertainty in A.
"Is she doing the same subjects as him huh? If not why are they studying together huh? The teacher teach the same things meh? Haiyoh.. maybe the girl is interested in him ah! How come invite him to her room one? haiyoh........"
... ...
Worse of all, since the Christmas episode, B knows that A does not like C one bit, even to the
extent of detesting her. Then why in the world is he still hanging out with her? and studying together furthermore?
A really wonders now if B has been "studying" effectively as he claims.
For now, A has decided to continue being indifferent.
INDIFFERENT till either of the following happens:
a) exams are over.
b) B happens to read this and takes the initiative to clear up the air with her.
c) A goes mad.
Meanwhile, can anyone teach A what to do?
