EXAM, HERE I COME
jux finished revising for my paper... gonna slp.. waking up @ 8, morning call to dear, den morning call to yan @ 9 b4 i leave for exams..
pls pls pls... test me on those which i have studied...
oh ya.. rcd ang baos from dear's mummy and ah ma.. they gave me to symbolise bon voyage and for me to spend there.. spoke to them on the phone jux now.. really touched by their concern...
and also, thks to dear for getting me dinner, and the book light... happy 47 mths together dear dear! sorry that i din get u antg... but will make it up to u next mth ok? meanwhile you stardee hard for your remaining papers ok?
can't wait for the final paper to be over.... EXAM, here i come!
oh ya... i found my specs liao! i dropped it accidentally into a bag full of plastic bags.. luckily i skimmed thru.. if not den my specs will stay in the pile of plastic bags and become forgotten.. haha...

15 HRS TO MY FINAL PAPER
have about 15 hrs to my final paper..
jux came back from NIE.. went to do some revision and cleared some doubts...
ah dear's gonna get me dinner- steamed rice with spare ribs in xo sauce frm JP...
i jux realised i lost my revision paper (with tips included) from the tcr... hmm.. i GOT TO find it.. though i got the questions over the phone from Xiuling.. but i think i will feel more secured if i can get to see what notes i have written... ;op
think i'm getting old... came back frm NIE, changed out of my clothes and i removed my specs.. den i took out all the clothes which belong to meiyan.... helped her to fold and pack them into a paper bag for her to bring home tomorrow.. but now i cannot find my specs!!!! searched the whole of my room.. itz gotta be SOMEWHERE.. but where???

INTERESTING WKEND
got a surprise from dear dear on thu... he's 'sponsoring' my taipei trip... den i'll rtn him when i get my paycheck... haha... luckily got him.. if not think i go taipei can only see, cannot buy.. thks ah dear.. muackz...
Fri's CAC105 paper was SUPERB! bull's eyes on the questions meiyan and i spotted... quite happy that we managed to reproduce ard 80% of wat we studied... haha... though we slpt late, everything was worthwhile!! hope we both can score for this paper.. 1st time doing the same module wif yan in 4 yrs! wat an experience!!!
to reward ourselves, we headed to Sake Sushi @ Hereen for the buffet... ate soooo much.. yummy yummy... den walked ard in Hereen... bought some stuf... ;op
went home after that.. slpt for a short while... den woke up to pack my stuff for taipei trip... went downstairs to meet up wif friends for a while.... One of my friends broke up with the boyfriend.. super sad..haiz.. hope everything will be better... stayed for a while before gg to one of my friend's hse to get smth.. wah.. the room sooo nice leh... most of the stuff frm IKEA.. but the ambience of the whole room very very romantic and cosy... got many wine bottles cox my friend's the captain of a western restaurant in Chinatown.. v v v v v nice... how i wished my room was like that... also cannot rem wat time i slpt...
woke up on sat morning at ard 9am... bathed, ate breakfast (had Vegetarian Bee Hoon from maxwell market).. den headed off to tuition... super tired... legs tired, hands tired.. kenna some blue-blacks frm donnoe-where.. haiz.. always like that...
came back to hostel, rested for a while, went tuition again... after tt headed to my aunt's hse.. went to watch Sahara with them.. v nice show... @ first i tot i would not like the show, but since they chose it den i kept quiet loh.. turned out to be v v nice.. ;op
this morning i went to Guang Ming Shan to pray for Qing Ming Festival.. then the whole family (ard 30 of us) headed to Quality Hotel to eat the Asian Lunch Buffet... $9.90+++ per person only.. but the food only average.. not much variety, but i was great catching up wif my cousins, aunts and uncles... everyone's asking me when i'm starting work lah.. which sch i will be going to lah.. how much my pay will be lah.. haha... talk about adult life!!!
uncle fetched me back to hostel... slpt like a log till 8 plus.. mayb cox not enuff sleep over the past few days.. only slpt for 4 hrs on thu night.. fri and sat night also a few hrs... think tonight i will K.O. v earli ....
only tom left to stardee for my final paper - Features of Singapore Mandarin... relli zero % motivation... but i will press on...
thks to all my friends who msg me... reminded me to work hard... thks darlings!

HOW YA FEELING TODAE?
good morning.. jux got out of bed, bathed and ate breakfast.. wat a wonderful way to start my day!
waiting for meiyan to come back frm her exam.. hope her Hong Lou Meng and Tong Cheng Pai came out.. haha... den steady liaoz! we'll have lunch together... den off to stardee for tom's paper liao...
surprisingly i really don feel the sense of urgency kicking in (even at this time!! where the exam is less than 24 hrs away) urgghhh.. looking back @ my past blog entries, i am normally revising thru for @ least the 2nd time @ this moment.. but sad to say, i have yet to finish studying for tom's paper!! sob sobz... still played mahjong quest game online yest... (don scold me!)
chatted wif mel mel last night too... so happy to see her online and finally not in busy mode cox of practicum.... chats wif close friends always seem to be neverending, cox we can nv finish updating each other abt our lives... glad that mel mel is gg travelling with jymmy... to such a romantic destination... hopefully it will be a case of depart SIN - Ms Ong, arrive SIN - Mrs Na!
hahahaha....... jymmy, if ya reading this.. u noe wat to do right? don forget the bling bling... ahahah.....and melmel... pls don bring extra lightbulbs! Paris's too romantic a place for more lightbulbs! enjoy your pre-honeymoon and 1st overseas vacation together... the memories are gonna be Fantastic i tell u! hahaha....

latest update abt shifting hostel - i will be extending my stay for another 3/4 month.. till 20th May (Fri) .... cox the enrichment programme dates and timings are too much for me to handle!! can't imagine having to be in NTU @ 830am... i will end up taking cab down i guess... (7 trips @$20 = $140, hostel fees only $135, still got a roof over my head and a final bit of freedom and privacy) haha... somemore after enrichment programmes i still have to give tuition.. so i'll end up being in the west area from 830am-830pm? watz the pt of gg home when the same routine will repeat itself the next day? also, i can have more time to pack my room and slowly move them back instead of having to rush everything off in 2 nights...
seems like everyone's for the idea of me extending my stay.. dear.. mumy.. friends..
which means to say, i can keep the 27th to finalise my travel stuff, such as packing my luggage, gg to change curency, buying last min stuff which i might have missed out etc...
moving hostel shall be moved to the back of priority list for now... and this is wat i have:

- delegate work for my students to do while i'm away

- pack my room @ home to make way for the loads coming back
- pack my hostel room and shift home
- ... ... ...

my gd neighbour went out for dinner.. bought dinner for me (chicken wing with fish and rice), mangosteens, white bread wif butter and kaya... so tempted to eat the mangosteens and the bread now.. but i shd curb my cravings.. or else later cannot slp cox too full.... hahaha...
bought a new liquid paper (pentel - $2.95) too.. gonna need it very much for my exam on friday...
slightly covered more than half of my target today.. gonna pia the rest tom with yan.... den itz do or die on fri liao... gonna stardee for at least another 30 mins... till 2am... if tired den i go zzz liao....

BANNERS ARE UP IN NIE!
Banners are finally up in NIE... took a walk wif janice ger ger jux now and found them plastered all around campus..
they look very nice.. but a pity the colour's not bright enough.. jux up onli and already looks like fading.. wonder how they will look like 1,2 yrs down the road...
agree wif janice that the group photo which we took was the nicest...
shall take the pics when i have the time and post it on the blog for those who are not in NIE to see ;op
went for the NIE Corporate Video recording this morning.. asked me to pose with a tablet pc in the COTF (Classroom of the future)... and i had a long line to memorise:

NIE not only provides a new dimension of teaching and learning. Apart from the transfer of knowledge, teaching must be about the holistic development of students.

FINALLY ITZ OVER
exactly 24 hours since i last drank the essence of chicken, and i am proud to declare that i've recovered!
itz really frightening wat a small bottle of the deadly drink (at least to me) can do...
Panadol Extra is good. i swear.
cures u of all illnesses in about 30 mins...
all freshened up after a short nap and a nice warm bath... gg MUG MUG MUG till i go for tuition...

SLEEPLESS NIGHT
couldnt sleep last night.
eyes closed, but brain wide awake.. till 6am?!?!
woke up to a splitting headache this morning...
luckily dear dear responded to my distress call for help... brought me breakfast so that i could eat medicine after that...
itz been a long time since i made contact with the panadol family... said hi to Mr and Mrs Extra this morning.. popped them into my mouth...
hopefully they can stop all the war inside my head and put me back on track soon..

POWERFUL ESSENCE OF CHICKEN
nv underestimate the power of a small bottle of essence of chicken.
drank the deadly bottle @ 12pm.. kept me awake all the way till now... though my head's spinning and my eyelids are shutting, i cannot fall asleep!
even chinese tea and lipton teh-o do not have the same effect on me!

tom's tuition day (out from 2pm till 9pm).. wed got corporate video recording (1030am - 1130am)... thu yan coming over to study after her CAC204 paper... fri's the ultimatum...
wished i could work a bit harder, or at least show a bit more enthusiasm towards my final 2 papers..

WHAT'S UR FAV TV PROGRAMME?
got stumped by this question during my malay exam. came out in the section which i had the most confidence in - composition.
nv did i expect such a topic.. i mean i can write about cooking, driving, shopping, my family, my house.. even on sports (cox tcr taught us nouns like badminton, soccer, swimming pool etc..).....
but FAV TV PROGRAMME?
those who noe me well will know that i've like a hermit for the past 4 yrs... w/o the luxury of a television, let alone watch television programmes. yes occassionally i do watch, but how the hell does one convert chinese words to malay?? how the hell do you say tv drama serials like 1/2 yuan2 fen4, star awards, cartoons, touching storyline, suspense and action, or even, Zoe Tay and even Joanna Peh in malay?!?!?!
luckily, i have a friend who loves to watch news, and he has been updating me with the news recently when we chat on the phone... and heng i recalled the news = berita (malay)... hence i wrote a whole chunk of rubbish with lots of grammar mistakes... but still betta than leaving the section blank and getting 10 marks less... arghhhh....
had to jux 'hum tum' wateva vocab i could draw out frm my word bank - news, stories, reported, special stories, weather forecast, interesting stories etc....
in the end i wrote a 10 sentence , as required for a mini essay... it went smth like this (in malay of cox)
ARGH. i hope the tcr doesnt freak out upon seeing my essay.
the other components were ok... as usual there were a few diff ones...

i love to watch news with my family. although there are many different tv progs, i prefer news to music programs. i only watch the news twice a day, once at 5pm, the other at 10pm. the news that are reported by the chinese lady (i donnoe watz malay for broadcaster!!!) has many interesting stories.
sometimes, there are also special stories, such as animals being killed in the zoo, students hitting their teachers in school and kids falling in to the drains (a bit lame i noe... but these were the only phrases in complete malay which i could think of as examples..)
i like to watch the news because i can know the weather in Singapore as well as in countries overseas, like Malaysia for example.
I can learn many things when i watch and listen to the news. My family also likes to watch the news. I like to converse with my family when i am watching the news.I feel very happy when i can get to watch the news on television.

CREEPY SHOW
watched Creep with dear last night.
literally left hanging @ the edge of my seat for the 1st half of the show.
movie has a very unique storyline.. that is ... if dear's and my guess are correct...
the evil man (Craig) is actualli some sort of a foetus-experiement-gone-awry.. den he lives inside the tracks of the subway.. preys on pple, kills them and digs out their intestines to feed his pets - millions of rats... also, he is a bit siao siao who imagines himself to be washing hands @ the sink when there's no water; wearing a stained surgeon gown and even dirtier gloves and acting like a surgeon.. manually 'removes' a woman's (Mandy) foetus inside her body and den inserts a long saw into her body to kill her... However, the only thing which he seems to be interested is the music doll which can play drums.. and this is positioned startegically in the middle of many glass jars containing different foetuses in awkward positions..
in the movie, blood is free-flow.. get it almost everywhere and anywhere; so are the rats.. they come in groups... going after fresh blood.... suspense factor is very high.. with the evil man chasing after the lead actress (Kate) and the exchange of blows between Kate and Craig....
However, the story is a bit stupid too.. becox of being forgotten by her friends to crash another party, Kate takes the subway but falls aslp while waiting for the last train. morale of movie? i think itz to discourage abortions.. tells pple how things can turn out as a result of the abortion.. the foetus continues to grow.... the foetus haunts the memories of the parents.... chanced upon it on the chinese newspaper abt 2 weeks back.. an article about aborted foetuses growing up in the 'other world' and passing dreams to their parents about wanting to get married 'down in the other world'... they interviewed a medium who said that foetuses DO grow though they have been aborted.. hence when they reach a certain age, they would wanna get married and have company.. errie right? eeeeeeeee.......

DREAMT that guyz asked me for my number but luckily kajua pulled me away.. suddenly i DREAMT that i was taking a long walk inside NTU trying to catch wild boars.... from the pioneer rd side.. to yunan gdn.. to comm studies block.. to NIE block 3.. den block 2... den swimming pool... DREAMT but they din come out... in the end came back... and the cab fare took me $20!! DREAMT that i chatted wif the fella on the cab too.. he asked me many questions but i can't rem wat they were.. hahaha.. LUCKY itz all a dream.. but wat a realistic dream... haha
woke up to a heartwarming and delicious breakfast from dear.. bee hoon, mee with chicken pieces and egg... and chilli... super full now.. gg study.. 1st paper for the final semester is about 13 hrs away...

It's London, midnight, and the city is enduring the worse rainfall in a century. Unable to find a taxi to take her to her next party Kate, heads for the London underground. She buys a ticket from a homeless girl and descends to the platform where she soon falls asleep. UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER
back frm tuition.
went for Fish and Co with meiyan last night.. supposed to meet my Malay cikgu for consultation but he canx it last min cox of another appt... pampered myself by buying a shirt from Giordano...nice nice... rcd compliments ;op
came back hall after that, wanted to study last night but plan foiled by my laziness.. haha.. but i had a gd time in hall lazing around, playing neopets and laffing nonstop... very relaxed fri night... also donnoe wat time i actualli slpt in the end... maybe 430am?? hahah.... tot of how life will change for me after i shift home... no more late nights.. no more late ktv sessions... chatting sessions with friends... being online 24/7.. no more freedom... but @ the same time i'm nearer... to my mum.. and i can see ... my mum everyday.. hmm... a lot of mixed tots.. well... everything has its pros and cons.. thinking of how i will adapt back to those *sleep by 12mn, no chatting late online or on the phone* kind of timings.. cannot laff to the pc as i chat wif meiyan.. cannot blog at 2, 3am in the morning...cannot go out forlate night supper with dear and friends... hmmm... sob sobz
as a result of all the above constant tots, i literally d.r.a.g.g.e.d myself out of bed this morning to go tuition... set alarm @ 9am.. but snoozed till 925am... bathed and left hall ard 945am.. reached Boon Lay Dr punctually @ 10am... yeah!
tuitioning Sandy is not an easy job.. her foundation and command of English is slightly weak.. jux like this morning, i asked her a simple question 3 times, but she could not reply me.... jux smiled and kept quiet... think she din even realised i was asking her question!! she also doesnt understand the difference btwn simple words like lose - loss; reduce - reduction... sighz..
left tuition @ 1130am.. greeted by a small drizzle which threatened to turn big.. walked as fast as i could.. in the end it was all sunny when i came back to NTU... had lunch @ canteen 14.. sumptous lunch.. cost me $3.10 ?!?!? hahahah
now back in the room, jux finished chking my mail, reading online blogs by my friends.. online newspaper... gg to try do my Malay functional writing before i go met my cikgu @ 230pm....
hopefully everything will turn out great for me todae....
so tired... drained.. exhausted...

STUDIOUS YAN AND MEI
yan and mei studied hard last night... after a luxurious and pampering dinner @ San Chong Liang Jian @ JP.. yummy samsui ginger chicken, ah gong fan shu ye, ginger with fish
sliced, lotus soup with pork, as well as chrysanthemum tea.. SUPER duper filling...
started memorising our 105 essay questions.. quite a gd progress..provided we can rem wat we memorised... shu yu... cheng yu.. yan yu... guan yong yu...still got xie hou yu den can complete this section liao... studied up till 3plus.. den tok tok tok again.. haha.. den we slpt @ 4 plus...
den yan woke up 9 plus, me 10 plus... yan went sch for her CEM quiz and bought lunch for me from NIE in the afternoon after tt...complete with chrysanthemum tea too.... yummy... and v full also.. now yan's taking a nap, and i'm trying to mug for my Malay before i go for consultation session with my cikgu @ JP later... hopefulli he can 'highlight' the impt areas to me bah.. i've done the past year papers for 3 times liao.. but still can get the same mistakes wrong.. got some words i also don understand the meaning.. haiz.... only can anyhow guess...
hopefulli tonight i can be equally hardworking as last night.. if all goes well...
still got tuition tom morning... s.i.a.n.z. but i nid the money for my taipei trip.. shall endure..

AMAZED
itz amazing how 2 girls can jux chat and chat and chat and chat for 5 hrs 40 mins w/o feeling tired or run out of topics to say... though exams are jux round the corner and both have not been sleeping well for the past few days...
even a blackout, a morning call at around 620am could not stop the 2 gerz from yakking their heads off...in the end it was Zhou Chongqing who stepped in to put a stop at 710am with a good morning message. Amazing.
will always remember the light sticks, ice mountain, chocolate icecream dip, milo with milk... and many many more.
Cheers to this unique, ever-giving and amazing friendship ;op

they are planning to get hitched on 5th Nov, if all goes well and they can manage to book the date... 5th Nov is their anniversary so they wanna make it a memorable date...
she has tried on her wedding gown, wedding ring as well as booked the hi-tea buffet @ orchid country club.. everything's more or less settled...
congratulations girl!!! so happy for u!!!

jux had a super fufilling pakcet of Boon Lay Nasi Lemak...
walked there from my tuition place.. cox i jux realised itz Soooooooo near...
took me abt 12 mins to walk there.. but it wasn't open when i reached...
settled for a miserable plate of chicken rice.. not nice @ all...
when i was abt to leave, i saw a long queue in front of the nasi lemak.. turned out tt they were opening soon.. so being the typical kiasu singaporean, i also queued up...
bought myself a small pkt wif chicken wings and ikan billis...
v v v v v nice... super happy now ... lalala...

WO SHI XING FU DE
a happy monday for me... had a great night yesterday... minimal studying.. but dear brought 'wen nuan pai' dinner from Sengkang for me... yummy curry chicken, vegetables with carrot and pig trotters and steamed egg with minced meat.. a simple meal, yet very warmingly delivered into my stomach...
after that rushed off to tuition.. totally forgot that i had tuition @ night... was late for a while.. but the worst thing was that i literally fell asleep during tuition.. luckily i had my phone wif me.. kept myself awake by reading jokes sent by my friend... haha.....
came back hall, bathed, rested for a while and tried stardeeing again.. plan failed as i felt sleepy.. laid on the bed for a nice chat wif dear's mum to thank her for the delicious dinner, tok to my mum too.. and dear also.. as well as a few more friends.. den i fell asleep wif my wet hair.. woke up a while later cox my phone rang and i got a surprise supper from friends cox they knew i was studying.. so sweet of them... ate Boon Lay nasi lemak and teh tarik.... after that was a little bit more of studying in bed with my notes before i finally concussed out at donnoe-what-time...
woke up this morning to another 'wen nuan pai' breakfast cum lunch from dear... tasty fried bee hoon and mee, topped with an egg and 2 chicken pieces! heheh......
CAC105 seems like a v heavy module.. can't seem to finish doing the notes.. Malay's not an easy paper too.. most prob i will start memorising malay from wed onwards.. right now itz full force for the 105 paper...
i miss my family, i miss my dear dear.. i miss my friends... but i know that 'wo shi xing fu de' ...

came back hall, bathed, rested for a while and tried stardeeing again.. plan failed as i felt sleepy.. laid on the bed for a nice chat wif dear's mum to thank her for the delicious dinner, tok to my mum too.. and dear also.. as well as a few more friends.. den i fell asleep wif my wet hair.. woke up a while later cox my phone rang and i got a surprise supper from friends cox they knew i was studying.. so sweet of them... ate Boon Lay nasi lemak and teh tarik.... after that was a little bit more of studying in bed with my notes before i finally concussed out at donnoe-what-time...
woke up this morning to another 'wen nuan pai' breakfast cum lunch from dear... tasty fried bee hoon and mee, topped with an egg and 2 chicken pieces! heheh......
CAC105 seems like a v heavy module.. can't seem to finish doing the notes.. Malay's not an easy paper too.. most prob i will start memorising malay from wed onwards.. right now itz full force for the 105 paper...
i miss my family, i miss my dear dear.. i miss my friends... but i know that 'wo shi xing fu de' ...
I REALLY HONESTLY SERIOUSLY DEFINITELY SURELY got to work hard now... 7 more days to my 1st paper.. do i feel the pressure kicking in or what?!?!

FRIENDSHIP
jux woke up from a great sleep and a simple lunch- instant mee...
had a lot of fun last night with friends.. singing.. drinking... joking.. discussing our future lives.. reminscing the olden days of friendship... suddenly i felt as if i could see my friend's future mapped out on a piece of paper... work... save money... start a business... get married.. have kids.. and i'll teach the kids and make them like Chinese!!! hahaha... how nice...
met jance ger ger and bf too.. itz like seeing an old old old old friend after soooo long... so much to say yet i donnoe where to start from... think if i jux started yakking my way off there.. janice's bf will really have to go for a long stroll before coming back to pick her.. muahahaha... ger... thks for ur concern... u really can read my mind... i swear i will do some catching up wif you once this busy period is over... meanwhile... bask in the bliss and love which you have found.. i've nv seen you more happy than now... glad that you found him ;op
itz such a joy to find people whom i can really call my soul-mates... friends whom i know will be there for me to listen to my complains, friends who can sense that things are not gg too well for me without me telling them... friends who can discuss sensitive matters in a logical way with me, friends knowing how to be sensitive to my feelings... friends willing to share my future with me...friends who can accept the stubborness and tolerate my shortcomings..
Kajua's kids shall be my students... and we'll sign both our kids up for Star Search Talent 20XX... hopefully Kajua's boy will win the Best Male Actor and my girl will take home the Best Female Actor.. den we'll also tell them all about the 10 years (and still counting) friendship which we had... all the things which we have talked about.. school.. rshp... career... marriage.. everything.
den Janice and I will walk down memory lane together with our kids in a few year's time.. toking abt our Indonchine times, late nites in hall.. stupid sms and phonecalls, issues abt marriage and life... den your girl can teach my girl how to love books and love reading.. and bring her to Borders and Popular.. den i'll get her a bookshelf as big as yours.. or even bigger.. haha.. they can do some reading while we chat over tea.. jux like that time we saw 3 mothers and their babies @ wheelock place eating ice cream and brownies.. remember? hahah
Meiyan and I will start teaching our daughters all the tricks in our pockets... how NOT to fall in love with the wrong guy.. make them see the greenery.. teach them the unique @$^#*^!# language... den i'll really work hard and climb my way up the career ladder.. and when i become the principal i'll make u my H.O.D k... i'll nv forget the times when u were there for me emotionally, physically, financially etc... den also my promise of tissue-brownie to you...

SISTERS GATHERING
had a fun n relaxing time with my dear sisters yesterday ...
met them for dinner @ Cafe Cartel after my tuition... ate lotz of things.. yummy.. hehe... i shared a Meat Lovers Special with yan.. and a tropical *donnoe-watz-the-name* icecream which the 5 of us shared...yummy strawberry and vanilla icecream, as well so sour strawberries, cherries, kiwis and peaches... haha... will post the pics up once hello is working...
think such monthly sisters gathering somewhat have a therapy effect.. to destress, chill out and juz update each other wif our lives... at least it took my mind off work and silly thoughts for a while...
itz such a great feeling to have endless topics to chat abt... with the dear ones ard me....a pity i had a nose which was running away.. if not i would definitely have been able to enjoy myself more...
after that, yan and i crazily headed to cuppage for KTV.. hahah.. sang till 2 plus... lotz of laughing, singing, chatting and staring at the other table full of noisy bitches.. arggh. den we came back hall, chatted for a while and we both concussed....yan's in sch for her Choir quartet evaluation now.. shall wait for her to go for lunch and den head down to Bugis..

GOSSIP TIME

SYLVESTER Sim's feelings for a certain girl are for all to see in his new, anticipated Mandarin album, Take Flight.
You only need to listen to three rock ballads on the album to know his devotion to her. The songs, all about pining for a girl whom he loves, but cannot have, are written by Sly - as he's affectionately known - himself.
While he won't divulge who this mystery lady is, he dropped enough hints to suggest she is fellow Singapore Idol finalist and girlfriend-on-the-sly-again Maia Lee, 22.
In an interview with The New Paper yesterday, Sly spoke at length about how the emotions in his songs are genuine and reflect his own love life.
'There's this girl I like, but I can't tell her because she already has a boyfriend,' lamented the lanky 22-year-old in a mix of English and Mandarin.
'When the guy is not around, we get to talk and laugh and be happy. But when he's around, I have to stay away and pretend not to look.
'The feeling is not great. But I'm the sort who will stay by her side and take care of her when her guy is not around.
'I'll do things for her, and even if she doesn't accept it, I'm still thankful and I'd do it willingly.'
So, who is this mystery girl?
Sly, being sly, refused to reveal.
'It's for me to know and for you to find out!' he said coyly.
'I'd like to keep it to myself. I don't want people to think that I'm crazy in love, or that I'm a great person. This is between me and her, or maybe just me.'
But, he did admit that 'she's my most beloved person', and that love blossomed recently.
He stressed that it happened before he embarked on his music career as a recording artiste, but not counting the Singapore Idol competition.
When asked if his songs reflect his last relationship, he said hesitantly: 'I can't really answer that... I don't want to affect my career.'
Then, leaning forward with eyebrows slightly raised, he added: 'But, who knows if the songs are not about her? Thinking back, she had a boyfriend then.'
While he did not mention Maia's name, it is no secret that Sly met Maia during the Singapore Idol contest, when she already had a drummer-boyfriend.
The two recently made headlines when they quietly applied for a marriage licence but quickly withdrew when the press found out.
When told point-blank that he's being sly, he shrugged and said: 'I don't know... I'm willing to do things for her, but I won't reveal who she is, not even if I'm six feet under.
'As long as she's happy and I can see her smile, that's enough for me.'
Perhaps another dead giveaway are his two new eagle-shaped tattoos - one on his back, and the other, his right arm.
Incidentally, Maia sports 10 tattoos, including an eagle near her right ear. But Sly claimed he chose the same symbol because 'I just like eagles'.The one on his back was tattooed in the chilly outdoors in Taipei two months ago, when he was there to style his image and take photos for his debut album. He said he was alone when he passed by a shop in the hip district of Hsimenting, and decided to go for it since 'I've always wanted a tattoo'. Last month, he got another one on his arm at Queensway Shopping Centre.
He insisted his tattoos have no special meaning. Unlike his music.

IF his lyrics are admittedly about his own love life, Sly fell for his 'most beloved' at first sight, and is still head over heels in love with her. Here's his love confession in the song, That's Why, translated into English:

HAPPY MONDAY
exams are nearing.. itz the dreaded stressful feeling again... but i feel happyand recharged todae! becox.... i had a great wkend, spending time wif mummy and friends... one of the last few times for me to enjoy before my exam starts...
single-handedly brought home 2 full luggage bags filled wif clothes to the brim... and i still have half a wardrobe full of clothes here in hostel.. omg... my wardrobe @ home is ALMOST full liao.. haha.. and i did an inventory count.. i have 27 working skirts.. plus 3 in hall.. which means i can wear one skirt each day w/o washing and it can last me for a month!!! (gg to post the pics once the Hello software is working..)
met up wif kajua and james for a drink @ night cox kajua jux rtn from Taipei..... i had green tea and coke.. the guyz had chivas... haha... funny moments, embarrasing ones too but it was a great evening.. kajua even bought food for us from Taipei.. haha.. tasted their tie4 dan4 (steel eggs?!) itz black in colour... v small... looks like mini sized century egg but according to Kajua itz actualli normal eggs which have been left under the sun to shrink and to be preserved?? ... haha... em.... funny funny one.. think itz bcox me don like the egg yolk.. haha.. the other tai1 yang3 bing3 (sun biscuit) was nice though.. flaky and sweet.. a bit like lao po bing (wife biscuit) ... hahaha.....
slpt early that night.... v EARLY.... haha... so did kajua and james.. cox we all felt soooo tired.... when i woke up it was like ard 11am? den slpt again.. den 2pm... den 4pm.. hahah.... but i managed to spend some time wif mummy after i finally woke up... she cooked chicken drumstick soup wif white fungus for me... she says v nourishing and cooling... can reduce heatiness... den in the evening Zhongwei brought my stuff over... so nice of him.. mummy went down to help me carry my things from his car...
after tt was dinner @ amk.. i ate porridge and drank 7-up ice (the Fido Dido one.. v nice!!).. delicious and challenging meal cox v spicy.. but not v fufilling... we went for a movie after that too...... haha.. Ms Congeniality 2... super hilarious.. but the crowd in the theatre not v responsive.. so it was a bit boring... hahah... ate supper (i had chicken wings) before coming back... it was a simple evening doing simple things.. but it felt great....
today's a v v cold day.. itz been raining since morning... got thunderstorm n lightning too.. super gd weather to sleep in...
though itz a super dready monday.. i feel happy! a brand new start. time to set priorties, achieve tasks, keep promises and WORK HARD...

RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately,the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking 3 questions:
- Ask the person to SMILE.
- Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
- Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently - i.e., It is sunny out today)
If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call your emergency number immediately(000 in Australia) and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general public to learn the three questions. They presented theirconclusions at the American Stroke Association's annual meeting last February. Widespread use of this simple test could result in prompt diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and prevent brain damage.
