wat was presumed to be heat rashes turned out to be an episode of Shingles.

wat the chinese folks call 生蛇.

my doc says it is the 2nd episode of chickenpox, as Shingles carry the same virus as chickenpox.

the viruses are actually embeded in the body after a person has chickenpox, but Shingles remains inactive till it is triggered by a high level of stress (mentally, emotionally, physically etc).

outbreak can last frm antg btwn 5 days to 2 wks. in those super jiatlat cases where Shingles is found around the abdomen, it can even last till 3 wks.

mine's on the right side of my neck. smaller area compared to the abdomen, but much more visible too.

imagine red patches of ugly looking skin, with water blisters on top.

omg. i don think you would wanna imagine that.

the pain comes on so frequently that i have to rely on painkillers in order to slp.

doc says it is not infectious but advises me to stay away from babies.

omg, what a gd way to spend the last 5 days of 2006.
